Rurouni Kenshin creator Nobuhiro Nishiwaki (who works under the pen name Nobuhiro Watsuki) was been fined 200,000 yen (approximately $1868.42 in U.S. Dollars) as part of a summary indictment for the charge of possession of child pornography, according to Jiji.

The 47-year-old manga-ka was originally arrested in November 2017 by Tokyo metropolitan police after police reportedly found multiple DVDs containing child pornography in his Tokyo office.

Watsuki's current manga, Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc, was placed on hiatus by publisher Shueisha following his arrest in November.
