A Batgirl film isn't an immediate priority for Warner Bros. or its DC films division following the exit of writer/director Joss Whedon, according to The Wrap. Relaying information from an unnamed source "with knowledge" of the Batgirl film, the film industry trade said that the studio isn't looking for a replacement to Whedon.

"There are no imminent plans to attach a new filmmaker to the 'Batman' spinooff [sic] after Whedon exited last week," The Wrap claims its insider revealed.

The Wrap's source also claimed Warner Bros.'s immediate focus is still on the core heroes from Justice League, and that even if Whedon remained on Batgirl that the project wouldn't be until after Matt Reeves' planned Batman film - which is currently unscheduled.
