Reg E. Cathey Passes Away at 59

Actor Reg E. Cathey passes away at the age of 59 after battling cancer, according to Variety.

Cathey is best-known for his roles as Norman Wilson in The Wire, Martin Querns in Oz, and Freddy Hayes in House of Cards - the latter of which earned him three Emmy Award nominations, with a win in 2015.

For comic book fans, Cathey was a frequent actor in various adaptations. Cathey played Freeze opposite Jim Carrey in 1994's The Mask, Deetee in 1995's Tank Girl, and Dr. Franklin Storm in 2015's Fantastic Four. The 59-year-old actor recently completed filming the second season of Netflix's Luke Cage, where he played the titular character's father, James Lucas.
