J.H. Williams III, who co-created the character Promethea with Alan Moore, has responded to DC's updated solicitation for Justice League of America #24 which brings the America's Best Comics character into the DC Universe - a decision he says DC never notified him or Moore was being made.

"So, this is without affording me the dignity hearing about it from proper channels," tweeted Williams, who read the news from Bleeding Cool. "I've not brought this to Alan's attention, doubt he knew, until now. Besides that, I can't in good conscience condone this happening in any form at all."

Promethea was created as part of America's Best Comics, a line of Moore-created titles designed as a WildStorm imprint, but which was eventually published by DC Comics after the publisher's purchase of WildStorm. Another America's Best character, Tom Strong, will play a role in the upcoming DC Universe title The Terrifics.

Justice League of America #24 is due out on shelves February 14.
