Chris Hemsworth's multi-picture deal to play Marvel Studios' Thor ended earlier this month with the actor's final on-set day for Avengers 4, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be more. The 34-year-old actor revealed that he and Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi already began brainstorming on what a sequel would be over the New Year's Eve holiday.
"We gave cheers to Thor 3. But it also was like what could we do with four? We could do this and this. We were throwing ideas around," Hemsworth told USAToday. "But also, just to work together again. That was one of the most enjoyable creative partnerships I’ve ever had."
Hemsworth said he's unsure of where his character ends up after Avengers 4 - even though he's completed filming his portion of the movie.
"It just depends on how the Avengers [movies] all wrap up," said the actor. "I finished shooting and now they are going to edit it and see how the stories play out. There are so many interwoven scenes and stories and characters."
Hemsworth has three upcoming films outside the MCU - 12 Strong, Bad Times at the El Royale, and the fourth Star Trek film.
