Updated July 18, 2018: The Vin Diesel-led Bloodshot from Sony Pictures has been scheduled for a February 21, 2020 theatrical release, according to TheWrap. Production is said to begin this month with a cast comprised of Diesel, Eiza Gonzalez, Michael Sheen, Toby Kebbell, and Sam Heughan.
Bloodshot is the first film scheduled for that February 21, 2020 release date - however February 14, 2020 has been effectively reserved for an untitled DC film.
Updated March 8, 2018: Actor Vin Diesel has signed on to play the title role in Sony's adaptation of Valiant's Bloodshot, according to Deadline. The film is reported to be a "franchise play," with filming scheduled to start in in July.
No official release date has been announced but Bloodshot is expected to reach theaters in 2019.
Original Story: Vin Diesel is in negotations to star in Sony Pictures' planned Bloodshot film, according to The Wrap. Dave Wilson is already slated to to direct, based on a script by Eric Heisserer. Bloodshot is planned as part of a five-movie franchise which would include Harbinger.
According to the Hollywood trade, Sony is planning for Bloodshot to come out in 2019 with a "hard R" rating.
Bloodshot is being produced by Neal Moritz, who also produced Diesel's Fast and the Furious franchise.
Back in July, Jared Leto was reportedly in talks for this same role.
