FX is removing Bryan Singer's name as a credited executive producer on Legion following the writer/director's personal request, reports Deadline.

“Bryan asked to take his name off the show, so we have done that,” Legion creator/executive producer Noah Hawley told Deadline. "Very early on in the conception of the show, I met him a couple of times. He was interested in directing the pilot, but once I stepped in to direct, I haven’t spoken to him since that moment. Really, he was a name on the screen.”

The request was reportedly made in light of recent sexual misconduct allegations, however it is unknown at this time if Singer will (or won't) be credited on Fox's The Gifted or the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Deadline states that Singer's Executive Producer title is contractually binding on The Gifted as part of his agreement to direct the pilot, and Singer was previously-named as a producer on Dark Phoenix.
