Jim Baikie Passes Away At 77

Eisner Award-winning artist Jim Baikie passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at the age of 77.

Baikie was born on the Orkney Islands February 28, 1940. After serving a six-year stint in the Royal Air Force, Baikie entered the illustration field as an artist for Morgan-Gampian Studio. The Scottish artist became a key figure in UK TV adaptations and girls' comics. Eventually, Baikie joined up with Alan Moore and together created his most memorable work, Skizz, for 2000 AD. In 1986 he co-created Electric Warrior with Doug Moench, and also did work with U.S. publishers including DC's Batman and The Spectre.

Baikie is survived by his wie, Wendy, along with five children, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
