MARVEL Recruits FAIRY TAIL Author To Judge Manga Artist Contest with KODANSHA

Updated April 17, 2018: Fairy Tail manga-ka Hiro Mashima will be one of the judges in Kodansha's second annual Marvel Manga Awards competition running in Weekly Shonen magazine, reports Mantan Web.

Mashima joins the previously announced judges, Marvel CCO Joe Quesada and Marvel Editor-In-Chief C.B. Cebulski.


Original Story: Kodansha has launched its second annual Marvel Manga Awards competition. The contest encourages artists to submit artwork to be considered to draw a licensed Marvel serial published by Kodansha in the long-running Weekly Shonen magazine. The winner will also receive 3 million Yen (roughly $24,490 in U.S. Dollars.)

The deadline for entries in the contest is May 10, 2018, with a winner scheduled to be announced on August 18.

The winner of the inaugural Marvel Manga Awards, Kohei Uchida, went on to draw Guardians of the Galaxy: Galaxy Rush.
