Image Comics has hired Paste Magazine editor Sean Edgar as its new Brand Manager, taking over from the recently-departed David Brothers. In this position, Edgar will edit Image+, oversee overall content development, and moderate the publisher's various convention panels.

“As a longtime admirer of Sean’s work at Paste, it’s exciting to be welcoming him to Image,” said Image Comics publisher/writer Eric Stephenson. “Sean’s tremendously talented, he has a great eye, and his passion for comics is nothing short of inspiring. Working with him promises to be one of the highlights of the new year.”

Edgar joins Image after three years at Paste, writing about comic books and music. In addition to that, Edgar freelance as a journalist and wrote Art of Over The Garden Wall for Dark Horse Comics.

Edgar is scheduled to begin at Image in January.

“I’m feverishly excited to join Image Comics and help articulate the passion and innovation Eric, Kat, and the team bring to sequential art,” said Edgar. “They’ve remained at the vanguard of pushing the medium forward, and I can’t wait to reveal some of the projects we have incubating in podcasts, video and beyond.”
