DC Comics has cancelled plans to collect Rachel Pollack's run on Doom Patrol. The announcement was made in DC's weeky retailer newsletter as among a list of items that were "cancelled and will not be resolicited." No reason was given for the decision.
Pollack followed up Grant Morrison's memorable run on the title, with her work spanning two years on the title with from Doom Patrol #64 to #87. The run featured artists such as Richard Case, Stan Woch, Linda Medley, Scot Eaton, and Tom Sutton.
Morrison's run was collected in three volumes, while Pollack's run has never been collected.
Earlier this year, Pollack told Newsarama that Young Animal curator Gerard Way had approached her about doing more Doom Patrol material.
"Gerard Way is great! He got in touch with me because he really wanted to work with the previous people who had written Doom Patrol, and respects their work," Pollack told Newsarama's C.K. Stewart. "There's a chance I'll do some work for Young Animal - it's up in the air. But he's so damn busy and I'm busy too, we haven't really had a chance to look at that possibility. Joe Corralo's been in touch with him. There's a good chance! And he does want to bring back Kate, actually, which is very cool. I like that a lot and respect that. I'd do something like a one-shot for him, or a miniseries, it would really be great.
Here is the solicitation for this cancelled collection:
