J. Scott Campbell's Danger Girl has been optioned as both a live-action film and television series by Constantin Film, reports Deadline. Campbell and co-reator Andy Hartnell are onboard as producers, alongside Constantin's Martin Moszkowicz and Robert Kulzer
“Looking at Danger Girl’s lead character Abbey Chase and her posse of thrill-seeking femme fatales, female empowerment and wish fulfillment have never been more fun,” Kulzer said.
This isn't the first time Danger Girl has been optioned - back in 2010, Adrian Askarieh announced plans for a film, at the time describing it as "Kill Bill meets Raiders of the Lost Ark with the team element of Mission: Impossible." Askarieh is involved in Constantin's new attempt at a film, along with Jeremy Bolt of Bolt Pictures.
“I have been a fan of Danger Girl for more than 20 years," said Askarieh," and the idea of being part of the team to finally bring Scott’s and Andy’s iconic creation to the screen is incredibly exciting.”
No timetable for release on these projects has been given.
