To continue the celebration of the comic book community, 2nd & Charles and Fried Pie Comics have come together again to host the third annual Fried Pie Comic Con on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The festivities will occur at the 2nd & Charles Newark store located at 101 Geoffrey Drive. Guests can revel in a variety of events beginning at noon including “Artist Alley,” which features over 40 tables of prominent creators and publishers in the industry.
“It has been an exciting few years being able to watch Fried Pie Comic Con grow into a success from our first convention in 2016,” said Spencer Simpson of Fried Pie Comics. “These annual events provide a great opportunity for pop culture fans to interact with writers and artists – as well as take home some of their work – and we look forward to celebrating comic book lovers again in 2018!”
Headlining creators at Fried Pie Comic Con include Magdalene Visaggio (Kim & Kim), Carolyn Nowak (Radishes), Missy Pena (Steven Universe), Emmett Helen (Rick and Morty), Ian McGinty (Adventure Time), Care McGee (Over the Garden Wall), Brenden Fletcher (Motor Crush), Andrew MacLean (Head Lopper), Tyler Boss (4 Kids Walk Into a Bank) and more. Sponsoring publishers include Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Z2 Comics and VIZ Media, with more to be announced.
In addition to “Artists Alley,” Fried Pie Comic Con will also feature autograph signings and a panel discussion.
“It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to host this third annual event at the 2nd & Charles location in Newark,” said Scott Kappler, chief marketing officer at 2nd & Charles. “One of our top priorities is to recognize and celebrate the artists who provide creativity and create stories for the comic book community – and there’s no better way to do it than at Fried Pie Comic Con!”
