Brett Ratner is not involved in Warner Bros.'s planned Wonder Woman sequel, as confirmed by director/co-writer Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
Gadot stopped short of confirming reports that she issued an ultimatum about not returning if Ratner was not removed from the production, but did she say that her views on the matter have been well-recorded, and that she was not alone in wanting Ratner removed from Wonder Woman 2.
“There’s been a lot written about how I feel and my views and this topic," Gadot explained. "Everyone knows how I feel about it. The truth is, there are so many people involved in this movie, and they all have echoed the same sentiment.”
Best known as a director, Ratner is also a principal in RatPac-Dune Entertainment - which has financed numerous movies for Warner Bros. including the three recent DCEU films - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman - as well as this week's Justice League.
Jenkins said Ratner's removal was a "foregone conclusion" that had been settled prior to the first unconfirmed reports of an ultimatum.
"That whole thing happened weeks ago," Jenkins explained. "That had nothing to do with Gal. That was a foregone conclusion."
Wonder Woman 2 is scheduled for a November 1, 2019 theatrical release.
