AT&T's planned acquisition of Time Warner (which would include Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment) has hit a snag, as the telecom giant's CFO has warned of uncertainty - possibly about its approval by federal regulators.

“The timing of the closing of the deal is now uncertain,” said John Stephens, AT&T CFO/Senior Executive VP at the Wells Fargo investors conference on Wednesday (via Variety).

While he declined to comment on the ongoing discussion with Justice Department lawyers, last week the Wall Street Journal reported that the federal government was considering a lawsuit to challenge the Time Warner acquisition.

According to Variety, AT&T's rivals have expressed concern that AT&T could "gain unfair leverage" with Time Warner content in carriage negotiations.
