Updated November 9, 2017: Black Adam star/producer Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has confirmed that Undateable's Adam Sztykiel has been hired to script this upcoming DCEU film.

"Excited to expand the DC Universe w/ writer Adam Sztykiel (co-wrote Rampage) and bring this complex & gritty anti-hero to the big screen," tweeted Johnson. "This character’s in my bones. Ruthless code. #Kneel #BlackAdam"

Original Story: Undateable creator Adam Sztykiel is in negotiations to write the screenplay for Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam from New Line Cinema, according to Deadline.

Johnson was originally slated to star as the villain/antihero in Shazam, which just cast Zachary Levi in the lead role, but instead will debut in his own solo movie that is being developed concurrently with Shazam.

Johnson is also producing Black Adam.

Sztykiel was a member of the writing team for New Line’s Rampage, the 2018 adaptation of the 1980’s videogame, which also stars Johnson. His other writing credits include Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.
