Seven writer Andrew Kevin Walker has been hired to write a live-action feature film adaptation of Kazuo Koiki and Goeski Kojima's classic manga Lone Wolf & Cub, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The adaptation from Ghost in the Shell producer Steven Paul was first announced in June 2016. Paul said at the time that, unlike Ghost in the Shell, Lone Wolf & Cub would comprise an all Asian cast to reflect the setting in feudal Japan.
Star Trek Beyond director Justin Lin is also signed on to produce the film, per the Hollywood trade. He initially signed to direct in 2012, and according to THR, may still take that job as well.
Lone Wolf & Cub has not received an official release date.
