Diamond Comic Distributors has hired Josh Hayes as Vice President of Diamond Book Distributors, reports ICv2. Hayes, who worked for Diamond previously, returns to run the Book division's day-to-day operations and will report to Diamond VP-Sales and Marketing, Roger Fletcher.

“I’m excited to help shape where our industry will be in the future,” Hayes said.  “I’m confident that the ideas I have will bear fruit for Diamond and its roster of publishers.”

Hayes worked for Borders Group from 1998 to 2002, rising from Senior Planet/Analyst to becoming the Buyer for Waldenbooks. In 2002, Hayes joined Diamond as its National Sales Manager and was promoted to the Book division as its Associate director in 2006. He graduated to becoming Director in 2009, but left the company in 2012 to take a position as Lighting Supply Company.

Hayes now takes over for Kuo-Yu Liang, who launched Diamond's Book division in 2003. Liang has now been tasked with expanding the company's international business as VP of International Sales and Business Development.

“[Josh] has a fantastic ability to prospect for new revenue and has great connections in place to build our sales internationally,” said Liang.
