Professional wrestler AJ Styles is scheduled to co-write an autobiographical story about his 2016 WWE return in BOOM! Studios' upcoming WWE Royal Rumble 2018 Special. Scheduled to be released in January 2018, Styles' story will be co-written by Headlocked's Michael Kingston and drawn by an unnamed artist.
"I've performed in arenas all over the world, but the most special debut was in front of the WWE Universe at Royal Rumble,” says AJ Styles.
Styles previously wrote a story in Headlocked Volume 2 Kickstarter Edition, and is one of many wrestlers ranging from Mick Foley to Kevin Nash, the Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, Raven, and others, to write comic books.
“AJ and I are friends and we have similar creative mindsets, so working with him is a breeze,” says Michael Kingston. “We collaborated on a story for Headlocked that was a lot of fun, so when the opportunity to work together again arose, it was really a no-brainer.”
Additional stories in WWE Royal Rumble 2018 Special are planned to come from Ryan Ferrier, Kevin Panetta, Kendall Goode, and Daniel Bayliss.
