20th Century Fox's Kingsman: The Golden Circle earned $3.4m from its Thursday evening domestic previews, according to Deadline.
On roughly 3,100 screens in North America, the Kingsman sequel opened $2m ahead of its predecessor in a similiar frame with 2,569 screens. The original went on to earn $36.3m domestically in its 2015 opening weekend and ultimate $414.3m globally by the end of its run.
Working off a reported budget of $104m, Kingsman: The Golden Circle is speculated to earn "a high $40m-plus gross" in North America this weekend.
The LEGO Ninjago Movie also opens this weekend, but did not have Thursday screenings according to the Hollywood trade.
