Early projections for Marvel Studios' Thor: Ragnarok estimate the three-quel to have a $100m domestic opening weekend. BoxOffice speculates that the Hulk/Thor match-up plus the inferred Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired music component will help boost the sales of the franchise in its third installment.
For comparison, May 2011's Thor earned $65.7m in it opening weekend domestically, with November 8, 2013's Thor: Dark World raking in $85.7m. With those numbers, Thor and its sequel went on to ultimately earn $449.3m and $644.5m at the box office worldwide, respectively.
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to open November 3 in North American theaters.
