A new Marvel Entertainment pre-school initiative spearheaded by a new animated series titled Marvel Super Hero Adventures will launch this fall. The multi-platform program will include early-reader chapter books, toys, comic books, graphic novels and other merchandise.
"We are delighted to bring Marvel Super Hero Adventures to life across multiple divisions of Marvel Entertainment," said Marvel Entertainment President Dan Buckley. "The program and content that the teams have developed is smart, inspiring and will reach a whole new generation of Marvel fans."
The Marvel Super Heroes Adventures cartoon does not have an announced platform or launch date, but is planned to have 10 three-and-a-half minute episodes featuring Spider-Man and a rotating co-star to include Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Black Panther, and Ms. Marvel. The series will, according to THR, "teach the benefits of friendship, co-operation, and heroism."
This week's Marvel Press early-reader chapter book Deck The Malls!, is the first in a series of books to be released through 2018. The first book is written by former Marvel staffers MacKenzie Cadenhead and Sean Ryan, with art by Derek Laufman.
In October, various merchandise under this initiative will debut at big box stores like Walmart, Target, and Toys "R" Us. Hasbro, Jakks Pacific, Jay Franco, and Mad Engine are producing this unspecified merchandise.
"Marvel storytelling and characters engage parents and fans around the world, and now preschoolers have the chance to experience the fun and excitement of the Marvel Universe," said Paul Gitter, Marvel Licensing's Senior VP. "Marvel is a brand for fans of all ages, but particularly by preschoolers and trusted with preschool parents. Since our characters are inspiring, heroic, responsible, and brave, the new products are the perfect way for preschoolers to celebrate their passion for Marvel in their daily lives."
