Director Ron Howard has shared an image of actor Paul Bettany in what appear to be costume on the set of the still untitled Han Solo movie. Along with the image, Howard said "The Outer Rim just got a little wilder," seemingly teasing a role in the film for Bettany.
Howard later tweeted confirmation Bettany has joined the cast.
Bettany is no stranger to comic book and science fiction roles, having portrayed Tony Stark's A.I. J.A.R.V.I.S. in four films before becoming The Vision, a role he'll next play in Avengers: Infinity War.
Howard and Bettany are no strangers either, having worked together for 2001's A Beautiful Mind.
Bettany joins Andy Serkis and Forest Whitaker (upcoming in Black Panther) as the only actors to bridge Disney's gigantic Star Wars and Marvel Cinematic universes. Samuel L. Jackson has appeared in both universes of course, but in Star Wars prior to Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm.
Han Solo is currently in production for a May 25, 2018 theatrical release.
