A 1950s Superman poster featuring the Man of Steel talking about the core American value of respecting diversity has been digitally restored by DC Entertainment.
Although the publisher says it released the image originally back in 1949 as a brown paper school book cover for the Institute of American Democracy, it says no record was made of who wrote or drew the image. It says it may have been done by Wayne Boring, but this has been disputed in the past.
The original image was printed as posters in the 1950s for display in libraries and schools. DC has not said what plans it has for this digital restoration.
