Updated September 1, 2017: Marvel has released a pair of interior pages by artist Esad Ribic and Steve McNiven from Marvel Legacy #1.
In contrast to some of the previously released images, which depict the 1,000,000 B.C. Avengers, these pages show a much more up to date version of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Marvel Legacy #1 is a time-spanning story that Marvel says will set the stage for their "Legacy" initiative, which kicks off in October. The story will feature art from more than 10 artists. It's due out on shelves September 27.
JASON AARON (W) • ESAD RIBIC (A)
Original story: Marvel Comics is enlisting 10 additional artists to draw Marvel Legacy #1 alongside originally-announced artist Esad Ribic. Described in the publisher's marketing as "the biggest story in the Marvel Universe," Marvel Legacy #1 will now have artwork by Ribic, Steve McNiven, Russell Dauterman, Chris Samnee, Alex Maleev, Stuart Immonen, Pepe Larraz, Jim Cheung, Daniel Acuna, Greg Land, and Ed McGuinness.
“Because the events of Marvel Legacy #1 impact on so many corners of the Marvel Universe and reflect the upcoming storylines in so many of our titles, it only made sense to call on the artists most associated with those titles to cement the connection,” said Tom Brevoort, Marvel's Senior VP/Executive Editor. “Plus, it means that this book represents a Murderer’s Row of artistic talent and a real showpiece for those who love excellent comic book graphics.”
"I was thrilled to join Jason, Esad, and Matt on Legacy #1,” added Russell Dauterman. “The bit I illustrated checks in with my corner of the Marvel Universe, the world of Thor, and teases our biggest story yet.”
“I am really honored to be part of this huge project that is Legacy,” said Pepe Larraz. “I think it will redefine Marvel Universe as we know it. Enjoy the ride!”
The news of the additional artist comes four days before retailer's Final Order Cut-Off deadline.
The 50-page Marvel Legacy #1 is scheduled to be released September 27.
