Jack Kirby's Etrigan the Demon is returning to DC Comics in an all-new six-issue series titled The Demon: Hell Is Earth by writer Andrew Constant and artists Brad Walker and Andrew Hennessy.
The series finds Jason Blood retired, living in Death Valley when a nuclear explosion cracks the Earth, allowing Hell to escape into our world. As Hell escapes, Jason turns to his alter ego, the rhyming demon Etrigan, to combat the forces of evil.
"I was excited to work on a great, slightly lesser exposed Jack Kirby character," said Walker. "As I've gotten into Andrew's scripts, I've been having fun doing something tonally different than books I've worked on in the past. It's fun tapping into moody, darker aspects of my art. It has a bit of a Vertigo vibe. It's maybe not a side of me people know, but it's stuff I am a fan of, just as much as the big, bombastic, superhero stuff."
The Demon: Hell Is Earth #1 is due out on shelves November 15.
