Wizard World has announced plans to expand to Montgomery, Alabama and Springfield, Missouri with Wizard World-themed conventions later this year. This comes just two months after cancelling Orlando and Albuquerque dates.
“We are excited to be bringing our pop culture celebrations to these two growing cities,” said John D. Maatta, Wizard World President and C.E.O. “We have big things in store for 2018, and the addition of Montgomery and Springfield is a reaffirmation of our commitment to producing high entertainment value for fans across the country.”
Wizard World Montgomery is scheduled to be held October 20 through 22 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center. Scheduled guests include Nichelle Nichols, Jon Heder, Emily Swallow, Holly Marie Combs, Nicholas Brendon, and Briana Buckmaster.
Wizard World Springfield is set for November 10 through 12 at the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center. Scheduled guests include Nichols, Heder, and Combs, as well as Craig Parker and Andrew Gower.
This is the first time Wizard World has hosted events in these cities, but it is unknown if this is a one-time commitment or the first in planned annual events.
