J.R. Ramirez has been cast in a recurring role for the second season of Marvel Television's Jessica Jones on Netflix. Ramirez's character is Oscar, the new superintendent of Jones' apartment building.
"While his young son becomes enamored with Jessica and her powers, Oscar keeps his distance, worrying about the trouble that follows people like her," reads Marvel's description of the character.
Oscar appears to be an original character to the show. His unnamed son has yet to be cast.
“J.R. is an incredible addition to our cast, bringing complex and subtle emotion and humor,” said showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. “He exudes warmth, edge and intelligence, and blends perfectly with our tone.”
Ramirez is best known for playing Ted Grant/Wildcat in the CW's Arrow, and currently co-stars in the Starz series Power.
The second season of Jessica Jones is scheduled for release in 2018.
