BATMAN Retakes BATMAN DAY From HARLEY QUINN, With Agreement To Share

At Comic-Con International: San Diego, DC Comics announced that Harley Quinn was replacing the annual Batman Day event that takes place in September. Now, however, the publisher has informed retailers that it will remain "Batman Day" - but Harley Quinn will share the spotlight in all of one-shots released for the event, which is scheduled to take place September 23.

Batman Day 2017 Special Edition #1 will reprint Tom King and David Finch's Batman #16, with a new 3-page short by writers Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmoitti along with artist Bret Blevins. Ryan Sook has done a new cover, a homage to Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns #1 - with Harley Quinn added.

Harley Quinn Batman Day 2017 Special Edition #1 reprints Harley Quinn #11 by Conner and Palmiotti, with artist John Timms.

DC Super Hero Girls Batman Day 2017 Special Edition #1 will have a chapter from the upcoming DC Super Hero Girls: Out of the Bottle by writer Shea Fontana and artists Marcelo DiChiara and Agns Garbowska.

Each of the one-shots have a net price to retailers of 25¢, but retailers are encourage to use them as free giveaways. Each will come with a digital download code.

DC also has plans for new paper masks, but the characters and designs have not been disclosed.
