Keith David has been cast in a recurring role on Freeform's New Warrior series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. David will reportedly play an original character named Ernest Vigman, described as "a caustic municipal employee who butts up against the hopeful energy of the New Warriors."
David is a TV and film veteran, with numerous roles in comic-book based media. The 61-year-old actor recently voiced the telepathic gorilla Solovar in CW's The Flash, and in animated TV shows voiced everyone from Black Panther (Fantastic Four), to Spawn/Al Simmons (Todd McFarlane's Spawn) and Mongul (Young Justice).
New Warriors is scheduled to debut sometime in 2018 on Freeform.
