Skybound Entertainment is launching a new prose novel imprint titled Skybound Books under the auspices of Atria Books, a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster, Inc. This will be separate from Skybound's comic book and graphic novel titles published through Image Comics, although Image have published prose books in the past.

“This co-publishing partnership between Skybound Entertainment and Atria Books comes at a really exciting time for the company,” said Skybound co-founder/chairman Robert Kirkman. “We are on a relentless search to find different ways to tell the stories from some the most creative minds out there, and Skybound Books  imprint is a very important component of that endeavor."

Skybound Books plans to release four to six titles per year, with a mixture of original fiction and non-fiction concepts and ones dervied from Skybound's various comic books, TV, and film projects.

“This dynamic co-publishing partnership with Skybound one of the most innovative companies in Hollywood - provides an opportunity to build a publishing home within Atria for writers with bold, new voices and creative visions," Atria's President/Publisher Judith Curr.

Michal Braff will act as Senior Editor, and work out of Skybound's Los Angeles offices.

As part of this, Skybound's Editorial Director Sean Mackiewicz has been promoted to Senior Vice President/Editor-in-Chief of the company, and will overe Braff and this new imprint.
