Marvel Studios panels at Comic-Con are always show-stoppers and Saturday night in San Diego was no exception. In addition to revealing a new Thor: Ragnarok trailer, news of Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fisburne being cast as Janet Van Dyne and Bill Foster, respectively, in next year's Ant-Man and the Wasp, and footage from Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War that rocked Hall H, a few bits of news from 2019s Brie Larson-starrer Capain Marvel emerged on social media.
Now we're still waiting for word from Marvel Studios to confirm what's been widely reported - that the entire film is a period piece set in the 1990s with a pre-one-eyed Nick Fury making an appearance or if that'll just be a flashback a la the beginning of Ant-Man. But for her part Larson has retweeted serveral posts from the panel since Saturday night and she hasn't offered any correction of those reports.
What isn't in dipsute is the classicly-Fantasic Four villains, the shapeshifting Skrulls, will be villains in the film and the concept of them and Captain Marvel that's emerged on Twitter feeds.
They aren't first generation-perfect, of course, but worth checking out.
