Marvel’s Iron Fist may have been the least well-received of the so-far five seasons worth of Marvel-Neflix shows, and when it returns for its second season it'll have a brand new showrunner.
Raven Metzner (Fox’s Sleepy Hollow) is taking over as executive producer and showrunner following Scott Buck, who ran the first season before taking on ABC's Inhumans.
Iron Fist's second season renewal was announced at Comic-Con Friday night by Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb.
“Raven’s love of all things Iron Fist and his extensive knowledge of martial arts films made him the perfect choice to continue telling the adventures of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing,”said Loeb in an announcement. “Season One and The Defenders are only the beginning of this fantastic action packed tale.”
Loeb also hinted at the Saturday panel that in season two Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) would team up with NYPD detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick) from Marvel’s Luke Cage, establishing that long-time Marvel Comics partnership in the Netflix corner of the MCU.
Metzner was a consulting producer on NBC’s Heroes Reborn and TNT’s Falling Skies and began his Hollywood career co-writing the Elektra feature film, and the first draft of an unmade Deathlok film.
