More details have come out about Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's Doomsday Clock event series following Johns' panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego.

The series, scheduled to debut November 22, will run for 12 issues - like the original Watchmen series - but with the scheduled skip months of March and August 2018.

Described as "a story for our time that brings the greatest heroes and villains from the DC Universe together with the mysterious forces from the Watchmen Universe," the story will center on Superman and Dr. Manhattan.

It's now known that Doomsday Clock #1 will start one year in the future of the DCU, but by the time of its finale in December 2018 the rest of the DCU titles will be in sync with its storylines.

The publisher makes it a point to note that Doomsday Clock #1 will be released just prior to the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, which DC said holds a special meaning for Johns.

"Each year, he would return home from school with the latest comic books to read and discuss with his friends."
