"Detective Comics #962" cover
Credit: Yasmine Putri (DC Comics)

Detective Comics writer James Tynion IV has debuted a cover to the upcoming #962 by Yasmine Putri with Azrael once again donning a Batman suit. Take a look:

Originally created by Denny O'Neil and Joe Quesada, Azrael became Batman in 1993 when Bruce Wayne retired after suffering a brutal back injury at the hands of Bane. In modern continuity, Azrael - real name Jean Paul Valley - has appeared intermittently in the "Rebirth" era Detective Comics.

Here is the original solicitation for the issue, which at the time did not mention a cover by Yasmine Putri. This issue is scheduled for release August 9:

Written by JAMES TYNION IV • Art and cover by ALVARO MARTINEZ and RAUL FERNANDEZ
Variant cover by RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE
