Sterling Gates has joined the writing staff of the CW's The Flash as it goes into pre-production on its fourth season. The DC Comics alum announced the news in a tweet over the weekend.
Although best known for writing DC Comics' Supergirl from 2008 to 2011, Gates' first comic book-related job was as a production assistant to Geoff Johns and the other writers on the short-lived Blade: The Series. He has, however, written the Scarlet Speedster on several occasions, including Flashpoint: Kid Flash Lost and The Flash: Secret Files & Origins (co-written with Johns). He also wrote much of Justice League of America's Vibe. He recently wrote DC Comics Supergirl tie-in to the live-action series, and contributed an episode to the most recent season.
The Flash's fourth season is scheduled to begin October 10 on the CW.
