Dark Horse Comics has scheduled Frank Miller's long-brewing 300 sequel for 2018 accoding to Entertainment Weekly, with a new title: Xerxes: The Fall of the House of Darius and the Rise of Alexander. Written and drawn by Miller himself, the five-issue prequel is told from the point of view of the Xerxes and the Persians, the antagonists in the original 1998 miniseries.
This 300 sequel was originally announced by Dark Horse in 2010 simply as Xerxes. In 2011, publisher Mike Richardson said that Miller had completed two issues but the book was delayed due to the cartoonist's "Hollywood commitments."
Frank Miller is scheduled to attend the 2017 Comic-Con International: San Diego, and Dark Horse has scheduled a signing Friday, July 21 at their booth with the chance to win a free Xerxes lithograph.
