"Marvel Legacy" is bringing Deadpool to the pages of Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez's recently-launched Defenders, according to IGN. The Merc with a Mouth will appear in #6, which is anticipated to be released in October, for a story-arc which will reveal a new Kingpin.
"The Defenders are going to attempt to take back the streets just as one criminal rises to the title of Kingpin. But who will it be and what kind of legacy has Wilson Fisk left for them," Bendis said. "[Deadpool's] involvement is a big clue to who ends up being the new Kingpin. Don't worry, it’s not him :-) Oh wait, maybe it should be. That's not a totally terrible idea. Deadpool is the new kingpin? Hmmmm… :)"
The writer goes on to say that mutliple "ruthless criminals" will be vying over the right to be the new Kingpin, in a clash described as "scary, bloody, and a lot of fun."
Curiously, the Defenders series won't take part in the legacy renumbering many of the other Marvel U titles will have as part of "Marvel Legacy."
Here is the solicitation for the first issue of the arc.
