Star Wars: The Force Awakens will receive a young reader graphic novel adaptation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film was previously adapted by Marvel Comics as a six-issue mini-series. The new adaptation will be published by IDW, and will consist of an 80-page retelling of the film's story.

The Force Awakens adaptation is the first in a line of Star Wars comic books for young readers from IDW. It's written by Alessandro Ferrari, with art from a Disney art team that has previously adapted material from the original and prequel trilogies.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens young reader adaptation is due out on shelves in August, and will be followed by Star Wars Adventures, a young reader-targeted ongoing series featuring Rey, the lead character of The Force Awakens.
