Supergirl co-showrunner Ali Adler is stepping down from the CW series to focus on new projects as part of an overall deal with CBS TV Studios, reports Deadline. Adler launched the series on CBS in 2015 with co-showrunner Andrew Kreisberg; Kreisberg will continue on, with the showrunner duties now being split between him and two show producers who are being promoted to co-showrunners, Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner.
Adler will reportedly remain attached to Supergirl as an "executive consultant."
The CW superhero drama series Supergirl is beefing up its showrunner ranks heading into its third season with the promotion of Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner to co-showrunners alongside co-creator Andrew Kreisberg.
Supergirl's third season is scheduled to begin October 9, 2017 on the CW.
