The popular live-action superhero TV series Misfits is being rebooted for a new show on Disney’s Freeform network, reports Deadline. Based on the 2009-2013 series which ran on E4, this all-new Misfits, with Diane Ruggiero-Wright as showrunner/producer and Victoria “Vic” Mahoney directing the pilot.

Ashleigh LaThrop has been cast as Alisha (under the name Alicia in this U.S. Misfits), with Tre Hall as Curtis, Allie MacDonald as Kelly, and Jake Cannavale as Nathan. The role of Simon – played in the original by Inhumans’ Iwan Rheon – has yet to be cast.

The original Misfits concerned five teenage outsiders resigned to community service, who get superpowers after being caught in a strange storm.

This new Misfits will be Freeform’s third superhero show, following the twin Marvel shows Cloak & Dagger and New Warriors.

The creator of the original Misfits series Howard Overman is onboard as a executive producer, alongside Ruggiero-Wright, Josh Schwartz, and Stephanie Savage.
