Original Story: Henry Zaga has been cast as Sunspot in 20th Century Fox's New Mutants, according to Entertainment Weekly. Zaga would replace Adam Canto, who played the mutant hero in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Zaga is best known for playing Brad in Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, and previously appeared in Teen Wolf. Like Sunspot, Zaga was born in Brazil.

Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor Joy were the first two actors officially cast in New Mutants (as Wolfsbane and Magik, respectively), although rumors of other castings and potential returns from previous movies have been reported.

New Mutants is scheduled to open in theaters April 13, 2018.
