Novelist Brian Keene has announced that he's working on an unspecified comic book project for the "Big 2," unofficially but commonly meaning DC and Marvel Comics - but hasn't specified which.
Keene also took the occasion to make some pointed commentary towards comic book writers outspoken about political and social issues.
Rumors are true. Doing a Big 2 project again. But unlike Spencer & Slott I won't tell you how to vote or how to feel. Or punch you like Waid— BrianKeene (@BrianKeene) April 19, 2017
Seriously. When did middle-aged white comic writers decide they could dictate what's best to people of color or poor whites from Appalachia?— BrianKeene (@BrianKeene) April 19, 2017
I don't care how u vote, what u worship, or who u love. As long as you're not, like, setting puppies on fire, you're welcome to read me.— BrianKeene (@BrianKeene) April 19, 2017
Keene wrote wrote Dead of Night: Devil-Slayer for Marvel in 2008, and worked on several smaller projects for DC afterwards. He was announced as part of the writers' team for 2014's New 52: The Futures End but left calling it not a "good fit."
