Writer/director Joss Whedon has provided more on his plans for Warner Bros.'s Batgirl film. While at the red carpet premiere for Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the one-time Avengers director told The Hollywood Reporter about the angle he has on the Batgirl character after brought to him by DC Films.
"She came up, and I started getting obsessed with how a young woman could get hardcore enough to need to put on the cowl. Like, What's her damage?" Whedon said. "She didn't have her parents killed in an alley. Who is this person, who decides - rather than being forced to by their childhood trauma — decides to pick up this life? How intense and driven that person is ... I just couldn't stop thinking about it."
When asked if the redecent "Burnside" Batgirl redesign would be in the film, Whedon was non-committal.
"I don't know," Whedon said with a laugh. "I have a lot of voices in my head."
