Speaking on The Silencer, artist John Romita, Jr. compared Honor Guest to a “female John Wick,” but explained there’s no tragedy that drives her backstory – for the main character, killing is just a job.

“It’s been done to death,” Romita confessed about the concept of what he calls a super assassin, “But we know what we have to do to make it different. Dan’s idea is brilliant.” Romita said The Silencer is about the mix of “street level reality with a little bit of fantasy.”

Romita also delved into Honor Guest’s backstory, saying her original job was as a killer of men, but now that she has a husband and son, she’ll have to balance that mission with family life when she is “reactivated” out of retirement by Leviathan's Talia al Ghul.

Andy Kubert then spoke about New Challengers, saying that the story was still in its infancy. He did speak about the new, diverse cast and said they’ll be facing a host of new missions and enemies.

“One thing that attracted me to this is the covers my father did for the old Challengers of the Unknown series,” he explained.

The last artist working on a newly-announced book, Jim Lee, spoke about creating Immortal Men with James Tynion, IV, explaining that the book is about a chunk of Nth metal which arrives at the dawn of DC’s history, imbuing five brothers with immortality. Those brothers go on to secretly drive the history of the DC Universe, splitting into five different factions.

Details on Sideways and Damage were less forthcoming – though DiDio did say that Damage's titular star is a brand new character that draws on the name and themes of the DCU’s previous hero of that name.

Dark Matter will start with Metal in August. No specific release dates for any of the new titles have been given.
