Updated April 13, 2017: Batman writer Tom King has tweeted a second New Gods related teaser image, this one featuring Orion alongside a quote from Sylvia Plath.

The quote reads "I need some older, wiser being to cry to. I talk to God, but the sky is empty, and Orion walks by and doesn't speak."

This follows the previous teaser's theme of a New Gods image paired with a lesser known quote from a famous American author.

No series has yet been announced, but King's teasers have all carried the words "Summer 2017."

Original Story: Batman writer Tom King has tweeted an image of Big Barda and Mister Miracle - two of Jack Kirby's New Gods - holding hands with the caption "Summer 2017."

The tweet also included a quote from author Thomas Wolfe which makes multiple allusions to "escaping," the chief talent of Scott Free, a.k.a. Mister Miracle.

"Is this not the true romantic feeling," reads the quote from Wolfe. "Not to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping you."

DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns told Newsarama during WonderCon 2016's "Rebirth" press conference that DC had eventual plans for the New Gods later in "Rebirth." At least one New Gods character, the villainous Steppenwolf, will appear as the primary antagonist of the Justice League film.
