Hasbro will reboot the G.I. Joe film franchise with what it calls a “more millennial approach,” reports the Los Angeles Times
“The world has changed, and I think you’re going to see G.I. Joe changing with it,” said Simon Waters, head of Hasbro Studios Consumer Products. “There’s going to be a much more contemporary approach to the whole franchise, and that will allow us to develop different characters.”
“We hope to create a head snap. It’s a different kind of ‘Joe’ — one that still resonates with ‘Joe’ fans but brings in an uninitiated audience and expands the audience internationally and domestically," added Hasbro CCO Steve Davis.
The previous G.I. Joe film series lasted for two movies, the latter of which, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, was released in 2013.
