Masamune Shirow's Ghost In The Shell is being adapted once again as a full-length anime movie. Just one week after the release of the live-action movie starring Scarlett Johansson, original manga publisher Kodansha and original animation company Production I.G announced a new anime movie directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The live-action Ghost In The Shell has earned $73.7 million based on a $110m budget just one week into its theatrical release according to Box Office Mojo. The film had been criticized for the whitewashing of several primary characters, with Paramount's Kyle Davies saying earlier this week that the studio felt those criticisms hurt the release of the film.
No release date for the animated Ghost In The Shell reboot was given by Kodansha or Production I.G.
