The all-you-can-read digital comics subscription service ComicBlitz have launched an Android app. The service has run since 2015 on the iOS platform, but expandsnow to Android following the start of an equity crowdfunding campaign that, to date, has received over $100,000.
“Our fans and new investors have been clamoring for service to be available on Android, and we’ve spent months in beta to bring it to them,” ComicBlitz CEO Jordan Plosky said. “We’re looking forward to fan feedback as they experience our service on Android, and enjoy our wide variety of digital comics on their mobile devices.”
Android devices account for 62.94% of the smart device marketplace according to NetMarketShare, followed by iOS at 33.39% and Windows Phone at 1.33%.
ComicBlitz offers over 4,500 comic books from publishers such as Image Comics, IDW Publishing, Valiant Entertainment, and Dynamite Entertainment. Its monthly subscription service costs $7.99.
