DC Comics' exclusive writer/artist Joëlle Jones is designing a new wave of DC Collectibles' Cover Girls statues. Jones-designed statues based on Harley Quinn, Supergirl, Batgirl, and Mera are scheduled to be released over the course of 2018.
"One of my favorite things about designing sculptures is being able to capture the essence of the character in statue form," said Jones.
"Evaluating the small nuances you appreciate in a character and using that to dictate their gestures, allows opportunities for expression you don’t necessarily get when creating a comic book.”
First launched in 2009, DC's Cover Girls statue line has previously included waves designed by Adam Hughes and Stanley Lau, as well as a general "New 52" wave.
DC has made it a point to note that Jones is the first female designer of DC's Cover Girls line.
Jones is currently illustrating the Supergirl: Being Super title, and previously co-created the Dark Horse title Lady Killer.
